Will Sharwanand Be The Silent Winner – Again?

Shatamanam Bhavati - Will Sharwanand Be The Silent Winner – AgainAt the very beginning of the year for Sankranthi festival, as many as four films were released. Sharwanand starrer Express Raja looked the least interesting and weakest among them. But at the end of the season, it turned out to be the biggest hit in the career of the actor.

The actor hasn’t had a release after that and is once again coming with a new film for Sankranthi 2017. Again, it is a film that releases amidst highly anticipated films of senior stars Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna. Just simply on the face value Sharwanand’s film Shatamanam Bhavati doesn’t have any face value. It also feels repetitive in terms of subject. But the most important point here is it doesn’t carry any burden of expectations.

When two big stars collide at the box office with a high level of expectations more often than not it doesn’t deliver on the expected level. If that is the case here Sharwanand can emerge as a winner once again for Sankranthi in back to back years.

We have examples from previous Sankranthi seasons as well. In 2002 Mahesh Babu and Balakrishna came with highly anticipated movies, the winner was Tarun starrer regular family entertainer Nuvvu Leka Nenu Lenu. In 2004 Sankranthi there was another Chiranjeevi versus Balakrishna clash, the winner was Prabhas with Varsham. Similarly, in 2005, Pawan Kalyan clashed with Jr NTR whereas the winner was Siddharth with blockbuster Nuvvosthanante Nenoddantana. Will the history repeat or be re-written?
