The film Singam 3 starring Suriya has been postponed. It has come as surprising for many fans but people in the trade aren’t. The reason is there has been a buzz in the industry for past few days.

Officially, delay in censor certification is cited as the reason for the postponement but the real reason is said to be the performance of a biggie like Dhruva. It is clear that Dhruva could have done a lot better had it released in the regular season. Add to it the demon of demonetization, it is a killer combination for a bad movie. People right now will clearly reject a bad movie.
Suriya at this point needs nothing short of a blockbuster opening, it is his big mass movie. It might be few years before he gets another mass movie of this kind. He can’t allow this one to misfire. A release right now means the percentage of failure will be high. Postponement, therefore, is a right decision but even more crucial would be the next release date. Let us wait and see what the next planning is.
