Ram Pothineni’s career has seen many ups and downs in his 17-year-old career. After going through a dull period for some years, he scored a resounding hit with iSmart Shankar and was back in the game.
His next release Red released in the middle of the pandemic, did decent business but didn’t help his career in any way. His last film The Warriorr directed by so-called Tamil mass director Lingusamy turned out to be a big disaster. Ram had pinned a lot of hopes on that film and expected that the film would catapult him into the league of big stars. But the film disappointed him big time.

Now Ram is coming up with a high volcano mass action film Skanda directed by oora mass specialist director Boyapati Sreenu. Boyapati is riding high on the super success of his last film Akhanda and whatever the hype the film has it is because of Boyapati.
Despite the promos and songs not clicking in a big way, Skanda is riding on high expectations because one can never underestimate Boyapati’s sense of filmmaking. If narrated well and if the emotions connect, his kind of films creates sensation, especially in the B and C centers.

Ram is also looking to become a mass hero as his days of playing a lover boy are over. Mass action heroes have a longer shelf life and more reach. He is also targeting the Northern belts this time as the film is releasing in Hindi as well as a pan-India film.
The success of Skanda could be a game-changer for Ram’s career, opening doors to new markets. However, if the film doesn’t perform as expected, he might be back to square one. He will need to reset and rebuild his career from scratch.
