Small films rescuing TFI

nithin-nikhil-sai-dharamIf the first half of the year was dominated by the biggies with their stupendous performance, second half of the year has been a big downer due to majority of them failing big at the box office. None of the big ticket ventures have been fruitful to the distributors which we had highlighted few days back. So what is making the clock ticking and distributors happy after all the business goes on as usual, isn’t it?

It is the small films in the second half that have done the trick for the distributors in the second half of the year so far. Films like Geethanjali, Run Raja Run, Lovers and the very recent Karthikeya are proving to be major money spinners for them. Apart from these small budget films there is the medium budget film like Loukyam which has done phenomenally. Even the dubbed film Pooja which was sold moderately is going to earn handsome profits for the investors.

These small films have kept the success ratio of the industry going and with a bunch of them expected to arrive in the coming weeks like Current Theega, Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham, Patas, Chinnadana Neekosam etc, the trade is expecting the success ratio to go further up. Sometimes lack of big budget films appear to be a boon for the industry, well, this appears to be that time.

Will the trend of small and medium budget successes continue for the final 9 weeks remaining in the second half of the year? What do you think? Tell us below.
