Naga Chaitanya’s highly anticipated web series, “Dootha,” directed by Vikram K Kumar, is finally set to premiere on December 1 on Prime Video.
After several unsuccessful attempts to produce Originals in Telugu, Amazon Prime Video is making a bold move with this series, investing a staggering budget of Rs. 40 crores. They aim to challenge Netflix’s dominance by offering high-quality local content.
Naga Chaitanya’s career has seen a pattern of delivering a big hit, followed by a series of flops, and then another hit. Currently, he is facing a challenging phase with movies like “Thank You” and “Custody” not performing well. However, he has a major project in the works, directed by Chandoo Mondeti and also starring Sai Pallavi.
In the midst of this, he’s presenting “Dootha,” a crime thriller boasting an impressive ensemble cast that includes Parvathi T, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Prachi Desai, and Tharun Bhascker.
If “Dootha” strikes a chord with the digital audience, it could provide Naga Chaitanya a breather with some much-needed respite until his next project with Chandoo Mondeti releases.
