The South Indian OTT space has seen two new entries today and they are Tamil film, Maamannan and Nikhil’s Spy.
Spy is made available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video in multiple languages and the same is confirmed earlier today.
Spy, as the title suggests is a spy thriller. The film was initially promoted to be based on the mysterious disappearance of Netaji Subash Chandrabose. But in the end, it turned out to be an underwhelming spy action thriller.
Then coming to Maamannan, the film has Udhayanidhi Stalin and Vadivelu in the lead roles. This film is streaming on Netflix in multiple Indian languages now.
Fahadh Faasil also plays an important role in Maamannan, making it a true blur multistarrer with several established actors in pivotal roles.
Both films are peculiar attempts so they might find some patronage in the OTT space. They could well be on top of charts for South Indian OTT audience this weekend.
