A few producers have been protesting against the delay in Producers Council elections even though the term has expired. Some producers even sat for Relay hunger strikes against the delay.
A commotion has taken place at the Council meeting today too on this issue. A few producers heckled Council President C Kalyan for delay in the conduct of elections.
Finally, it has been decided that the elections will happen on February 26th. The official announcement of the election date and other details will follow soon.
There have been allegations on the Council that it is not playing an active role in industry issues while Producers Guild is trying to override the Chamber and Council.
The Guild even prevailed upon the Council and Chamber to shut down the industry for a month. C Kalyan himself admitted that the movie is a disaster. At this juncture, the elections are happening.
