With the whole world in a phase of digitalization, the fates of posters seem to be in danger. The new and improved medium of promotion has given the filmmaker little cause to stick to the traditional posters-on-the-wall method of promotion.
In this regard, Priyanka Dutt, a film producer says that, “It is only due to media that this trend is being noticed now. In Tollywood, we always release on set pictures first for better communication with the audience.” Snehasis Das, documentary film-maker, on the other hand explains that, “The current generation thinks fast and digital. Though posters have their own aesthetic value, making one is always difficult and the process is cumbersome. This is new age and now, because of software, and quick publicity requirements, the ‘still’ is taking over.”
