The Tollywood box office saw multiple theatrical releases in the month of August. However, there’s only one notable hit in box office terms, while the rest have turned out to be flops.
Pawan Kalyan’s Bro closed last month with a disaster. Then the next biggie was Chiranjeevi’s Bholaa Shankar. The Chiru starrer was also a mega disaster with huge losses.
Rajini made an impact with Jailer which is the solitary box office blockbuster. The film had a pretty good run at the box office in the Telugu states much alike in the Tamil circuit where it is setting new records.
Other small films Mr Pregnant, Prem Kumar, King Of Kotha, Bedurulanka, and Boys Hostel are all non starters. They couldn’t make any noise at the box office and as a result have headed nowhere at the ticket counters.
August has been a rather dry month for Tollywood as barring Jailer, the rest have all turned out to be flops in terms of box office returns.
However, September looks bright with multiple releases like Kushi, Skanda, and Salaar.
