It is going to be a very exciting 2024, as next year we will see some of the most-hyped films from Tollywood releasing. Out of them, the biggest are NTR’s Devara, Shankar and Ram Charan’s Game Changer, Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2, and Prabhas’ pan-world film Kalki 2898 AD.
Some people in the trade are speculating that all these four biggies will be released one after the other within a span of two months. If that happens, it will be suicidal for the industry, as they will eat into each other’s box office business.
But out of these films, only Devara’s release date (April 5) is confirmed. Game Changer’s release date is uncertain as of now, as Shankar is busy with Indian 2. The shooting started almost two years ago, and the film is still not even 50% complete.
Even usually also, Sukumar is famous for delays and reshootings until he thinks he has achieved perfection. In the case of Pushpa 2, Sukumar has realized the potential of the film on a pan-India level.
He will not release a half-baked product just to meet a deadline this time. He will take his own time to come up with a film that will match the unreal hype the film has. So there are full chances that Pushpa might be pushed to the latter half of next year.
Kalki is completely dependent on VFX. The kind of scale Nag Ashwin is trying to attempt with this film, there are sure going to be a lot of delays. The film will not make it to Sankranthi 2024, as announced. It might be pushed to May or even ahead.
So there are going to be ample gaps between the release dates of these biggies, and the makers are shrewd enough to release the films with a sufficient gap and not ruin their huge box office potential.
