Tamil star Suriya is currently working with promising Telugu director Venky Atluri. The makers recently announced the film’s title by releasing Suriya’s first look poster. The film has been officially titled Vishwanath and Sons.
The title has drawn attention for its classy and emotional tone. Venky Atluri is known for choosing meaningful titles that connect with audiences, as seen with Sir and Lucky Baskhar. Continuing that trend, Vishwanath and Sons suggests a complete family drama. The title itself indicates solid emotional and generational themes.
However, the initial poster triggered heavy backlash. The makers released the poster with the title in English font, which upset a section of Telugu audiences. The film had already faced criticism because a Tamil hero is leading a big budget Telugu project produced and directed by Telugu filmmakers. When the English font title poster appeared, some netizens felt that the makers ignored Telugu identity. Responding quickly to the backlash, the team released a revised poster featuring the title in Telugu font.
In the first look, Suriya appears fresh and charming, holding a small child in a baby carrier bag. The film stars Mamitha Baiju as the female lead, while senior actress Raveena Tandon plays a key role. GV Prakash Kumar composes the music.
The makers plan to release the film worldwide in July 2026 as a grand bilingual drama in Telugu and Tamil. Now, all eyes are on how Vishwanath and Sons will perform at the box office.
