Social media and internet have revolutionised many things creating new features regularly to woo the users and expand their respective territories. Whatsapp’s new feature ‘Whatsapp Calling’ seems to be one such thing which is meant to increase the number of users and also the frequency of the usage of the app.
Coming to Whatapp calls, they aren’t actually free because one needs to be either on wifi or a data plan to use the feature. And the data used while making a voice call using Whatsapp calling feature amounts to more than the amount we are charged when we opt for a regular voice call using mobile networks.
Moreover there are connection and clarity problems while using Whatsapp calling. The disturbance while calling makes it not so preferable and it is absolutely not a bet for long duration calls. With the available data plans and the 2G and 3G connectivity problems, as of now there is no great threat to regular voice calls from Whatsapp calling feature.
