If one thinks of debuts in Telugu cinema there are three broad categories they can be slotted into.

First category is the grand entrance with a big budget and huge hype kind of film, one that we recently saw with Akhil. The pay offs with this kind of success are huge but failure here can be detrimental to the career of the star debut in question.
Second category is debut with an average commercial entertainer that is less in content but hits all right buttons highlighting the hero. We saw these kinds of films made for the debuts of Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu and Ram Charan. Basically the hero’s of these films proved their commercial abilities but the films were forgetful.
Finally the third category is content driven films that run on the merit. If the hero too lives up to the billing they make it big, even otherwise they get appreciated for the ‘good’ attempt. Films like Nuvve Kavali, Gangotri and Josh etc fall into this category. While the former films succeeded the last one failed but it still is viewed as good attempt compared to an Akhil without any doubt.
Now coming to Mokshagna which one do you think he should attempt for his debut. Dad Balakrishna wants him to do a third category project but fans expect result and hype nothing less than category one type. Who is right here, fans or Balakrishna?
