These days, music director Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) and controversies seem to go hand in hand—especially ever since the fallout with director Sukumar over Pushpa 2.
It’s no secret that DSP was removed from the Pushpa 2, with Sam CS stepping in to handle the background score. The rift between DSP and Sukumar has been widely discussed in public, and it’s clear that DSP is still hurt by how things unfolded.

Without naming any producer directly, he appeared to take a sarcastic dig at a producer who seemingly delayed or hasn’t cleared his payments.
He openly praised Kuberaa producer Sunil Narang, saying he was someone who cleared all dues even before the film’s release.

While the praise for Sunil Narang sounded genuine on the surface, the tone and delivery raised eyebrows.
Many also wondered if it was actually a veiled jab at his former collaborators—perhaps Mythri Movie Makers the banner behind Pushpa 2.
What’s becoming increasingly clear is that DSP hasn’t been his usual cheerful self on public platforms lately.
There is a visible shift in his tone—one of frustration or sadness masked in wit.
In fact, the most surprising part of the evening was when he made sarcastic comments about his own work in Kuberaa. Despite receiving huge praise for his background score, he appeared to mock his own re-recording for Kuberaa ‘పైగా మ్యూజిక్ బాగా చేశా అంటున్నారు..పైగా రీ రికార్డింగ్ కూడా బాగా చేశా అంటున్నారు.. అదేంటో’ — sounded less like sarcasm and more like a bitter attack aimed squarely at Sukumar.
Whatever the reason, it’s evident that DSP is going through a rough patch emotionally and professionally—and he is not hiding it.
