Salman Khan

While Shah Rukh Khan made a massive comeback last year, the other two Khans have struggled to keep up. Once lagging behind Salman Khan and Aamir Khan in the pre-COVID world, SRK has now surged ahead, leaving his contemporaries far behind.

Salman Khan once hailed as the Sultan of the box office has not delivered a hit since 2017. His last three films, Radhe, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, and Tiger 3, have all been huge disasters.

Looking to make a comeback in SRK’s style, Salman is teaming up with South Indian directors and actors.

His upcoming film, Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss and co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, is generating buzz. Recent reports suggest that Baahubali’s Kattappa, Satyaraj, has been cast as the main villain.

Fans are optimistic as Sikandar appears to be Salman’s most promising project in years, boasting a strong cast and crew. The film’s producer has a solid track record with Salman, having delivered hits like Judwaa, Mujhse Shaadi Karoge, and Kick.

However, there are apprehensions. AR Murugadoss hasn’t delivered a hit since Kaththi in 2014. His recent films, SpyDer, Akira, and Darbar, have been major flops, leading many to view him as a spent force with outdated plotlines.

Satyaraj, while a respected actor, doesn’t have the star power to draw audiences as a villain. Unlike Vijay Sethupathi, he lacks the same appeal among younger viewers. Also, Salman’s pairing with Rashmika might invite heavy trolling because of the age difference.

Despite these concerns, Sikandar seems more promising than Salman’s recent outings. If AR Murugadoss can craft a compelling script, Salman might just achieve the big comeback he’s been looking for.
