Let us just state at the start, lest it leads to an unnecessary comparison. A Ravi Teja film at its best cannot match up to the collections of a Mahesh Babu film. Hence keep that sort of thought out of mind, what we are talking about here is something different. We are asking if Power starring Ravi Teja could make dent into the collections of Mahesh Babu starrer Aagadu.
The reason for us to feel this way is simple. Both Power and Aagadu come with similar cop genre and have almost a similar sort of cast. Both the lead actors will be seen playing the role of cop for most of the time in respective films. What this means is that these films will have to deal with entertainment under similar situation and this is where the audience might feel repetitiveness among the two films. Also the film that arrives first might get an additional advantage as well.
If that is case then Power could create a situation where audience might feel not wanting to check out the latter film due to a feeling of déjàvu. But the real effect could be felt in the repeat audience segment where a number of audiences who initially might have wanted to see Aagadu twice may prefer to see the other cop movie in the town once, instead of watching the same film again. Whatever way it may be, be it in the beginning itself or in the latter stages of run, a reduction in viewing of a film means reduction in the revenue of the film.
Will Power have that ability or is it too late for its lead actor Ravi Teja to pull the audience in such a way that it could dent a top star movie collection. Or even worse will people stay away from Power to watch Aagadu that comes a week later. Which of these you think could be a possibility. Share us your thoughts below.
