Yashoda was a film that totally banked on its female protagonist Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The film was released at a time when she was going through a low patch in terms of health and it was the right boost for her morale.
While the film did not break box-office records, it proved to be a safe venture for its makers by the first weekend. That showed that the lady is capable of drawing audiences to theatres, even with average content.
Now that she is done with Yashoda, she has two other films in the pipeline. One is Gunasekhar’s Shaakuntalam and another one is with Vijay Devarakonda titled Kushi. The whole industry is waiting to see how the films will fare and what will be Samantha’s next move.
More importantly, it is crucial for Sam to finish the pending shoot of Kushi to give confidence to producers to sign her for new projects.
It is known that Samantha has been afflicted by an auto-immune disease, though she has put up a brave front and says she is confident she will overcome it soon.
So it’s just a matter of time before Samantha will make a decision on her next project or will she not? Let’s wait and watch.
