According to the report of United Nations, Delhi is the second most populous city in the World. The population of the city almost got doubled from 1990. The population of Delhi stands at 25 Million and the study also reveals that Delhi will be retaining the position at least till 2030 and is going to host 36 million people. Japan capital, Tokyo is the first most populous city in the World with 38 Million population.
Another Indian city, Mumbai is also placed in the Top five Most Populous cities of the World ranked fourth. Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad will be among the world’s top 30 cities by 2030. The report also said that the largest urban growth will be seen in India, China and Nigeria between 2014 and 2050. The three countries alone will account for 37 percent of the projected growth of the world’s urban population.
