Telangana Speaker Madhusudhanachari announced the merging of 12 T-TDP MLAs in to the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti. This decision is taken ahead of the budget session tomorrow. These MLAs will be allotted seats along with TRS MLAs in Assembly tomorrow.

This ruling will leave T-TDP with only three MLAs – Krishnaiah who is not active in the party, Revanth Reddy and Sandra Venkata Veeraiah who are accused in Cash for Vote scam. So, Revanth Reddy has to wage a lone battle against the ruling government.
On the other side, this ruling of Speaker may land in to trouble as there would be the basic question of why the Speaker did not take up the disqualification petitions before finalising the merger. But the ruling party is hoping that courts do not interfere in Speaker’s jurisdiction. This merger of the MLAs mean they need not face by-elections.
