A Hyderabadi individual, who was duped by agents and recruited into the Russian Army, was killed in the Russia-Ukrainian war. The victim was identified as Mohammed Asfan. He was 30.
Asfan, along with various other Indian youngsters, was forcibly inducted into the war. He had a wife and two children. Just a couple of weeks ago, a Gujarat individual was also killed in the war.
Reportedly, various youngsters from Telangana and Karnataka are being duped by agents in Russia and are being recruited as ‘helpers’ and ‘volunteers’ for the Russian Army. Later, they are being sent to war zones at Mariupol, Kharkiv, and Donetsk.
A few days back, Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi wrote a letter to Union Minister Jaishanker stating that three Hyderabadis went missing in Russia.
In the letter, it was revealed that these individuals had travelled to Russia for employment but were manipulated by agents and recruited into the Russian Army against their will.
Sadly, they were not allowed to maintain contact with their families as well. Asfan’s name was also mentioned in the letter, and unfortunately, he lost his life in the war.
