Liquor sales have skyrocketed in Telangana State on the eve of New year eve. It is estimated that 50 Crore worth Liquor was sold in the state on December 31st itself from various depots of the state. A depot in Khammam district alone sold 2.4 Crore liquor on December 31st. Sales of remaining districts are said to be even more.
Liquor sales are pegged at 935 Crore from December 1st to 30th in Telangana state. Liquor sales in Telangana in the same month in 2013 is 811 Crore. It is said that the liquor consumption increased drastically in the last 10 days of December due to the advent of cold weather.
Rangareddy district topped in the liquor consumption with 225.34 Crores while Hyderabad and Karimnagar districts are in second and third positions. Nizamabad is the last in liquor sales.
