Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, along with his ministers and other Congress party leaders staged a protest demanding the SEBI chief’s resignation over her alleged links with Gautam Adani.
Recently, the Hindenburg report stated that SEBI chairman Madhabi Puri-Buch has ties with the Adani Group. The All-India Congress Committee called for a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) investigation into these claims.
Congress party demanded that Madhabi Puri-Bach should be removed from her position immediately and Adani’s increase in illegal assets should be investigated by the JPC.
Due to AICC’s call, Telangana’s Congress leaders also staged protests in Hyderabad and demanded Adani’s resignation.
However, Revanth Reddy accepted investments by the Adani Group in Telangana during his Davos Group earlier this year.
Later, the government of Telangana also made another deal with the Adani Group regarding the collection of electricity bills. Hyderabad’s old-city area has been chosen as the pilot region for this deal.
When the Hindenburg Report claimed the SEBI chairman’s involvement in the Adani scam, Revanth and his Telangana government remained silent.
But when AICC Rahul Gandhi and other national Congress leaders called out Adani, the Telangana Congress also joined and started protests in the state.
After watching this entire saga, BRS leaders started saying that Revanth has no stance on the issue at all. BRS working president KT Rama Rao called Revanth a hypocrite by using the phrase, “Galli Mein Dosti, Dilli Mein Kusti”.
By accepting investments from Adani and also by protesting against the same company, Revanth has indirectly led himself to be a victim of heavy criticism and trolling by the BRS.
