The Pulivendula Assembly constituency has historically backed the YS family through thick and thin. Not once did the people of Pulivendula betray the YS family in the Assembly election till now.
However, there was a significant setback for YS Jagan in the recent 2024 Andhra Pradesh assembly election as the people of Pulivendula gave him a mini shock of sorts.
Jagan’s majority went from a massive 91,000 in 2019 to 60,000 in 2024, and they speaks a lot about the change in mindset of the people of this constituency. This was substantiated further by the defeat for the YCP in the Pulivendula water body election earlier.
And it appears that this recent turn of events has started to have a significant impact on Jagan at the foundational level.
Now Jagan has made it a point to constantly be available at the Pulivendula constituency, and this has been the case for the last couple of years. In this period, Jagan had visited Pulivendula at least half a dozen times.
To put the perspective, Jagan had not even campaign in this Pullela constituency in 2024, as his wife Bharathi looked after this activity. Such was the scale of unavailability of Jagan for the people of this Pulivendula constituency earlier.
It appears that the significant jolt in the 2024 election has instilled fear in Jagan and the repercussions are strong enough to bring him to the constituency frequently these days. Even today he happens to be in Pulivendula and he will be there tomorrow as well.
