Subsequently, the organizers and the committee supporting the statue have made necessary alterations, including the removal of the peacock pincham and Vishnu Chakram. The flute has been replaced by a sword. Additionally, the statue’s color has been changed from dark blue to gold. The statue now depicts NTR as a king, rather than as Lord Krishna or any other deity.

Minister Puvvada Ajay, along with NRIs, TANA members, and industrialists, invested Rs 4 crore in erecting this statue. The opposition claimed that the minister was doing this to gain votes from the Kamma community, which is large in numbers in Khammam.

Jr. NTR was supposed to unveil the 54-foot tall statue as a part of NTR’s centenary celebrations.
