Amaravati Relaunch: Capital Will Never Forget Two Names

Amaravati Relaunch — or Amaravati 2.0 — has officially begun, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself attending the event for the second time.

This time, he not only kick-started the project but also assured the people of Andhra Pradesh that the Centre will stand firmly behind it.

There is a strong belief among the people this time, with the central government depending on its alliance with the current state leadership, Amaravati will finally become a reality — fulfilling the long-standing dream of Chandrababu Naidu and serving the aspirations of crores of people and future generations.

The journey of Amaravati has been nothing short of dramatic.

When Chandrababu Naidu first announced it as the capital, even Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy welcomed the idea, saying that 30,000 acres wouldn’t be enough. But once Jagan came to power, his sudden U-turn shocked the state.

His anti stance to Amaravati is widely seen as driven by personal rivalry with Chandrababu — a move that completely stalled Capital progress and kept Andhra Pradesh capital-less for five crucial years. That period and Jagan’s attempt to erase Amaravati will forever be remembered in the state’s history.

In contrast, Chandrababu Naidu — not just the creator but the visionary behind Amaravati — has always dreamed big. Realizing that dream, however, remains a massive challenge. But, with the support of the central government now in place, the odds are finally turning. Naidu has promised that in the next two to two-and-a-half years, Andhra Pradesh will see its capital take shape, with work already beginning on iconic buildings like the Assembly, High Court, and Secretariat, awarded to top contractors in India.

When Amaravati becomes a reality, history will remember just two names: Chandrababu Naidu, for envisioning a world-class capital city for the future, and Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for trying to derail it out of political ego. Both will be etched in Amaravati’s story — one for building it, the other for trying to bury it.
