AP: Cabinet’s Big Push For Energy, Urban Reforms

The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet took key decisions on about 24 issues prior to presenting the state budget on February 14. The main focus was on energy projects, irrigation works and urban reforms.

The Cabinet gave approval to the AP AI Living Labs initiative in keeping with its goal of being technology forward. 45.6 acres of land was alloted for a compressed biogas plant in Thotapalli in Eluru district. 1500 acres were approved for a 250 MW solar project in Nandyal.

APGENCO will execute 1000 MW at Yaganti and 800 MW at Rajulapalem. These decisions reflect what one can expect in the upcoming state budget.

In some happy news to AP citizens, the Cabinet decided on regularisation of houses on unobjectionable lands. The deadline has been extended till June 30.

7189 irrigation works were given administrative approval and Cabinet set a target of three years for major irrigation projects.

Disaster recovery centre has been approved for APSDC at Tirupati. Secretariat names will be changed to Swarna Graham and Swarna wards. Comfort letter has been approved for Ramayapatnam Port development.

The Center will be releasing Rs 12000 crore due to the state under Jal Jeevan Mission.
