Speaking to the media, Varaprasad expressed his happiness over joining the BJP and promised to work under the able leadership of Narendra Modi.

Varaprasad served as Tirupati’s MP fro 2014-19. In the 2019 elections, he won the Gudur seat as an MLA.

However, the YCP refused to give him a ticket. YCP’s Gudur ticket was given to Meriga Muralidhar this time. Upset with the move, Varaprasad decided to join the BJP. He is expected to contest in the MP elections in Tirupati this time, representing the BJP.
