Bullet Rail To Change Travel Dynamics in AP

The Union Budget 2026 announced 7 high speed corridors across India. Now, there is a proposal to introduce a bullet train between Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam.

In the past, when CM Chandrababu visited Japan, he took a ride in the bullet train and it went viral at the time. Some time back, the Union government announced a bullet train between Ahmedabad and Mumbai with a travel time of under 2 hours. The estimated time for the opening of the corridor is August, 2027.

Now, Andhra Pradesh will have its own bullet train between Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam. The central government is searching for land to take up the prestigious project.

This apart, a semi hi-speed rail is being planned between Vijayawada and Kurnool. On the other hand, three high speed rail corridors will be developed between Hyderabad and Chennai passing through Amaravati, Hyderabad-Bengaluru corridors passing through Kurnool and Anantapur and Chennai-Bengaluru corridor passing through Chittoor.

Considering air travel becoming risky due to ever changing climatic conditions and the ease of travel that one experiences in trains, the Chandrababu government is putting equal focus on rail connectivity and development of airports.

When the bullet train comes to Andhra Pradesh, it would be a huge leap for the state that was stuck in a time warp for almost 5 years. It will also put the state on the global map of developed regions.
