Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has issued strict instructions to liquor shop owners across the state. He directed them to sell liquor only at the original prices and not charge more than the MRP.
The Deputy CM responded after receiving several complaints from consumers. Many reported that liquor shops were selling bottles at prices higher than the printed MRP.
Pawan Kalyan warned shop owners not to bring a bad name to the government by violating pricing rules. He said selling liquor at inflated prices goes against regulations and cannot be tolerated.
Complaints were received from multiple regions, including Kakinada and other parts of the state. After reviewing the situation, the Deputy CM reiterated that all liquor sales must strictly follow MRP norms.
He also instructed the excise department to increase surveillance on liquor shops. Officials have been asked to closely monitor outlets and ensure compliance with pricing rules.
Pawan Kalyan made it clear that strict action will be taken against shop owners found violating the rules. The government aims to protect consumers and maintain transparency in liquor sales across Andhra Pradesh.
