The Special Investigation Team has completed raids in Chennai and Hyderabad as part of the AP liquor scam probe. Two offices in Chennai were searched till Saturday afternoon. Earlier, eight offices and two residences of ex-CM YS Jagan’s brother, YS Anil, were also raided.
Investigators seized crucial data during the operations. The SIT has decided to summon accountants and auditors of Anil’s companies for questioning. Searches at locations linked to Sunil Reddy revealed funds being transferred into YS Anil’s accounts, raising further suspicion.
Based on these findings, the SIT raided Anil Reddy’s offices and residences in Alwarpet and VGP Layout in Chennai. Officials suspect that kickback money was moved abroad through shell companies and converted into legal funds.
The SIT is now probing how Anil Reddy acquired properties between 2019 and 2024. Seven SIT teams are reaching Vijayawada on Saturday, while the collected data will be analysed on Sunday and Monday before senior officials decide on further action.
Tension is said to be high at Tadepalli palace as the investigation intensifies, with authorities tightening their probe into the alleged scam and its financial links.
