Former Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya will be fielded for Assembly in the coming elections. Dattatreya who contested and won from Secunderabad Parliament Segment in the last elections was later inducted into Modi’s Cabinet as the Labour Minister but got removed a year ago.

The Saffron Party is now planning to field him to Assembly this time and he will be contesting from Sanathnagar against Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav. Talasani won TDP ticket in 2014 elections but later joined TRS to become a Minister. He has a strong vote base of both Yadav and Kuruma communities in the constituency apart from the strong support of voters from BC community.
Dattatreya also hails from Kuruma community and claims to have the support of same communities. Another Senior Leader, Kishan Reddy is keen on having the Secunderabad Parliament Segment which will be vacated by Dattatreya but the party wants him to contest for the Assembly once again.
