Mood Of India Bypoll: Tough Times For BJP!

BJP Tamil Nadu leadership developments

For the last decade, BJP has been a single biggest political party in India by a comfortable margin and has been forming the government in the majority of the states that they had been contesting.

But it appears that the latest electoral trend that is being exhibited by Indians is painting a very bloomy picture for the BJP.

Firstly, the BJP lost the Bankipur constituency in Bihar for the first time in the last 30 years. It is political strategist, Prashant Kishor, who had coincidentally worked with BJP earlier who secured a significant victory on behalf of his own party Jan Suraj.

PKS first time contestant here and he has managed to defeat BJP by a big margin of more than 19,000 votes. To put that into perspective, this seat was secured by BJP by margin of more than 50,000 votes in 2025. But the bastion has been breached.

On the other hand, we have the case of Manjalpur in Gujarat, which has also been a strong hold for the BJP over the years. In 2022, this seat was secured by BJP by more than one lakh votes margin.

Shockingly in the by election that was counted today, BJP’s majority went down from one lakh in 2022 to 30,000 this year.

It is evident that the BJP is facing significant anti incumbency in parts of India. From a position of absolute power, BJP is witnessing significant negative impact over the last few months.

This might not be so worrisome to topple the central government but the markers are very clearly bloody here.
