Unexpected: BJP Getting Wiped Away Fully?

BJP Tamil Nadu leadership developments

Generally, when a national party is in power in the centre, it will hold its ground in almost every single state across the country regardless of the outcome.

But if we look at the BJP, it is facing an extremely challenging situation in Tamil Nadu, which has outrightly rejected this saffron outfit from start to end.

The most significant exclusion from the party came in the form of the departure of Annamalai, who was the face of BJP in Tamil Nadu. Not only Annamalai stay away from contesting in the recent assembly election, he did not get the Rajya Sabha seat from BJP either.

This has started a caterpillar effect as the BJP is getting virtually wiped out of Tamil Nadu in every possible way.

Following the resignation of Annamalai from the BJP, a couple of other crucial leaders have quit the party. According to the latest reports, BJP Tamil Nadu vice president Karu Nagarajan has decided to step down, while state secretary Sumathi Venkatesh has also resigned from the party.

This would mean that the crucial functioning machinery of the BJP is nearly out and away from the party at the structural level. Without a strong face like Annamalai and crucial leaders, the BJP might have a tough time to sustain the Tamil Nadu politics.

While BJP is phenomenally strong in the northern part of the country, the saffron brigade is fighting for survival in South India. The only footprint that it has in South India is in Andhra Pradesh, and this is also entirely due to Chandrababu and Pawan Kalyan.
