Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan had accepted the resignation of Kadiyam Srihari who left the parliament seat to become the deputy CM of the state. This will necessitate the bielection in the next 6 months. BJP contested this seat in the last elections as a part of alliance with TDP.

And so normally it should be contesting again. But there are no takers for BJP ticket here while the ruling party is being swarmed by numerous aspirants. The last time contestant is also not ready to contest from BJP.
The saffron party is trying to rope in a former Congress lead and instill him in the contest, such is the apathy. Popular demand is that they should leave it to TDP itself who may field their senior leaders Seethakka or Revuri Prakash Reddy.
