India observed one of its biggest public moves in the form of the recent cockroach janta party protest in favour of the student community at Jantar Mantar. The consequence of this protest was so very severe that education minister Dharmendra Pradhan had to resign his position.
Now we have arrived at a point where the BJP has started to take reciprocal measures in order to reconnect with the younger generation of the population.
The party has understood in principal that there is a lot of vacuum between the senior leadership and the younger voting population in the country. So they have started a social media, push to connect Modi and other BJP seniors with the younger folk.
This has opened up a lot of social media vacuum, which is being filled by BJP with some cringe stuff, according to the social media consensus.
For the last few days, they have been extensive videos and social media campaigns which are intended to bring the BJP top leadership closer to the younger generation of public. It is made to seem like the administrative people in the government are very much caring of this Gen Z and millennials.
In this context, a new video of Narendra Modi in a video campaign referring to the modern generation youth as friends and using the famous Friends, sitcom song is trending for wrong reasons.
Many people are pointing out that the BJP is trying too hard to connect with the younger folk, and this fabricated and artificial social media push is getting extremely blatant. There is some level of natural blending that must happen at this social level for BJP to actually connect with the youth. These social media campaigns will account for nothing till that happens.
