The Lok Sabha elections are just a month away and all major parties across the country are preparing for the poll battle. However, BRS is showing the least interest in these elections in Telangana.
Recently, three out of nine sitting MPs from the BRS have jumped to Congress and BJP. Peddapalli MP Venkatesh Netha shifted to Congress in January.
Recently, Nagarkurnool sitting MP Pothuganti Ramulu and Zaheerabad MP BB Patil left BRS and joined BJP.
On the other side, Medak sitting MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy contested in the Assembly elections and won the Dubbaka seat. So, he won’t be contesting in Lok Sabha polls.
As of now, four out of nine sitting MPs are unavailable to represent BRS in the upcoming elections. Till now, neither KCR nor KTR reacted to these jumpings of the sitting MPs. They haven’t revealed a single candidate for the elections as well.
Meanwhile, the Congress and the BJP are fielding strong candidates in all Lok Sabha constituencies and are eager to gain the majority.
KCR has been politically silent since the conclusion of the Assembly Elections. Last month, he participated in a public meeting in Nalgonda, giving hope to the cadre that he would be actively involved in politics. However, he disappeared after that meeting.
Over the past few weeks, there have been rumours circulating that BRS is considering allying with the BJP soon.
Could this be the reason why BRS hasn’t announced candidates yet? Will the alliance with the BJP be established before or after the elections to dethrone the Congress in the state?
These questions remain unanswered until KCR addresses the public and provides clarity on BRS’s agenda.
