The Telangana government is jubilant for getting a chance to host Miss World Pageant. However, the controversy has already begun around the event.
VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad) member Dr R Shashidhar has said its rather shameful that something like Miss World pageant where the participants showcase their body, will be held at religious places like Yadadri, near Ramappa temple and around Anantapadmanabhaswamy temple at Anantagiri Hills.

He taunted the government for holding a pageant that promotes revenues of MNCs. It will be a black mark in the history of India. The Telangana government must withdraw its decision, he demanded.
When asked that Telangana got it after a tough fight with Dubai, Shashidhar said that in Dubai women cannot walk around showing their skin. It has burqa culture.
