The Central Additional Secretary and chairman of Project Monitoring Group (PMG) Anil Swarup who was overseeing the communication gap between Telangana government and the concessionaire L&T regarding the Hyderabad Metro project reportedly found fault with L&T for the delayed in the project. It has come to the notice of the central officer that the L&T Managing director VB Gadgil has the habit of not turning up to the crucial meetings regarding the project and sending junior officers. Gadgil even did not turn up to the meeting of Telangana government, L&T with the Central official and sent in the project director M.P. Naidu in his place. Gadgil only turned up towards the end of the meeting only to invoke the anger of the Central officer.
It is said that both the parties have exchanged the apprehensions on each other in the meeting. L&T complained about the delay in the right of way and various permissions while Telangana government complained about the controversial letters and media leaks by the concessionaire. After the meeting, a source in Telangana government said that the central official praised the Telangana government in the execution of the project but found fault with L & T for the delay.
