Yesterday, Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu wrote a letter to Telangana’s Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, proposing a meeting on July 6 to discuss issues between the Telugu states following bifurcation.

In his letter, Chandrababu noted that even after 10 years of bifurcation, several issues arising from the Reorganisation Act remain unresolved, impacting the welfare and development of both states.

He expressed hope for an amicable resolution through a face-to-face meeting. A response from the Telangana CMO is still pending.

Meanwhile, BRS MLA and former Minister Harish Rao commented that it is encouraging to see Chandrababu Naidu formally reaching out to Revanth Reddy to discuss and resolve the issues between the states.

However, he stated that before discussing bifurcation issues, Revanth Reddy should ensure to bring back seven mandals from Khammam district that were merged into Andhra Pradesh during bifurcation.

Harish Rao explained that after bifurcation, Chandrababu Naidu, with BJP’s support, passed a bill transferring these seven mandals to AP. He added that this decision was also supported by Revanth Reddy’s Congress party.

He asked Revanth to make sure to reclaim these mandals and the Lower Sileru project for Telangana.

Harish added that Chandrababu Naidu is now powerful and has BJP, and NDA government in his hands. Thus, he asked Revanth to persuade CBN to return these mandals.

After watching Harish’s statements, people are questioning if Chandrababu Naidu should also work for Telangana, what is the current CM doing and the previous CM did for their state.

These seven mandals had a possibility of getting submerged due to the Polavaram Project, and the project would not have started without Telangana handing them over to AP. Telangana was adamant on not returning those mandals.

Thus, through a series of meetings with PM Narendra Modi, Rajnath Singh, and Venkaiah Naidu, Chandrababu ensured the inclusion of these seven mandals into Andhra Pradesh in 2014.
