Who would forget that infamous Press Meet of Vundavalli Aruna Kumar about liquor prices in AP? He arrived at the Pressmeet with liquor bottles and announced the original cost of them and the cost at which Chandrababu Naidu Government was selling them.
Back then, he said a quarter would cost around Rs 12.50 and Chandrababu Naidu Government would sell that at Rs.50 and Rs.70 in some cases. Undavalli was asked about it in an interview now. The same Undavalli went on to say that the same quarter bottle is being sold at Rs.270 by Jagan Government.
“The government says liquor consumption comes down due to the high costs. But then, it would not decrease. In turn, smuggling and spurious liquor consumption has gone up in the state. This is very dangerous to the health of the public,” Undavalli says.
The former MP calls Liquor Prohibition as the biggest failure in Jagan’s tenure so far. The Sand policy comes second as another massive failure.
