Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu alleged that there was no democracy in Macherla during former CM Jagan Mohan Reddy’s tenure. He claimed that many atrocities took place then, but now, people are finally experiencing freedom.
During his tour of Macherla on Saturday, the CM addressed a large public gathering. He recalled how he was stopped from visiting Atmakur earlier and reminded people of the attacks during the previous municipal elections under the YSRCP government.
The Chief Minister warned Palnadu region leaders from YSRCP, stating that any violent or anti-social activity will not be tolerated. He assured that his government will act firmly if public property is targeted and promised to safeguard the interests of Palnadu citizens.
Chandrababu Naidu said that, along with scrapping waste tax, he will also remove “waste politicians”. He remarked that the public no longer tolerates leaders they dislike and hinted at political cleansing alongside administrative reforms.
He also pledged to end rowdyism in Palnadu. Addressing the crowd, he stated, “Not just cleaning waste, I will clean out waste politicians.” He added that people are satisfied with the Super Six schemes and the state is moving towards poverty elimination.
The CM announced that auto drivers will receive ₹15,000 during Dussehra. He took a dig at his rivals, saying that while some only talk, his government delivers by acting on promises. His vision, he said, is to ensure real development for the people.
Chandrababu emphasised that wealth can be generated from waste. He revealed plans to set up waste-to-energy plants in Kadapa, Rajahmundry, Nellore, and Kurnool. He also declared that Andhra Pradesh will become plastic-free by June 2026.
