Chandrababu Naidu who was out of jail after getting an interim bail scripted history the other day. He traveled all the way from Rajahmundry to Undavalli by road drawing heavy crowds everywhere. The journey which was supposed to take 3 hours took 14 hours because people would not let the convoy move.
This is easily the biggest-ever rally in Telugu history and moreover, it has happened impromptu and without any crowd mobilization.
In the process, Chandrababu Naidu shut many mouths. TDP cadre appeared a bit subdued after Naidu’s arrest. Many were spelling doom for the Telugu Desam Party.
YSR Congress was under the impression that TDP was finished with Chandrababu Naidu in jail and Lokesh stopping all political activity because of the legal issues.
This rally proved the real organizational strength of TDP from the grassroots and the connection the party and Chandrababu Naidu enjoy with the people.
The party cadre, sympathizers, and normal people have beelined all the way in Naidu’s route even in the midnight and in the early morning hours.
Just imagine youth, women, and even old people standing on roads from 10 PM to 6 AM just to have a glimpse at their favorite leader.
This rally will also be an eye-opener to a section of Janasena supporters who are daydreaming that TDP is finished and Janasena is the only hope even for that party’s cadre.
The rally has created a perception in the state that the sympathy factor is strongly in favor of Chandrababu Naidu and the winds have changed in favor of TDP in Andhra Pradesh.
