Former TDP MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar finally admitted to participating in Kolla Pandem (Rooster fight) in Patancheru the outskirts of Hyderabad. Telangana Police raided and made some arrests but declared that Chintamaneni is absconding.
Chintamaneni denied it and called it a political witchhunt. But after that, Telangana Police released a video showing that Chintamaneni is indeed at the spot.
After that, Chintamaneni admitted. “Playing rooster fights is my weakness. I was there in Patancheru but let after knowing that Police are coming,” the former MLA said.
Participating in Rooster fights is one thing and bluffing is some thing crazy. Rooster fights are not some heinous crime which will end up with a life Imprisonment or capital punishment.
At most it is a petty case. He should have simply downplayed it saying Rooster fights are our culture.
On one hand, we have ruling party leaders conducting casino and still claiming themselves as Right Royal.
This bluffing initially and admitting later will not only bring disdain to Chintamaneni but also to the party.
Mistakes like this have proved costly for Chintamaneni and the party because if him between 2014-19.
