Senior leader Karanam Balaram was elected as an MLA from TDP in Chirala in 2019 and ditched the party afterwards.
He has not joined YSR Congress to avoid resignation and is continuing as YSR Congress’s Unofficial MLA. TDP did not have an incharge for the constituency after Balaram’s exit.
Meanwhile, Chandrababu Naidu has found a replacement for Balaram in Chirala constituency. A BC leader MM Kondaiah is finalized as the constituency incharge.
He is into Real estate business and is actively involved in the party affairs in the constituency. In fact, he has joined TDP before 2019 elections from YSR Congress.
TDP Ongole Parliament incharge Nukasani Balaji also tried to get it but Chandrababu opted for Kondaiah.
Amanchi or Karnam will be YSR Congress’s candidate in 2024. Balaram is also contemplating bringing his son, Venkatesh in the next election.
A BC candidate is likely to be a good candidate, Chandrababu feels. He belongs to Yadav community which has 40K voters in the constituency.
Kondaiah’s name will be officially announced in a couple of days.
