Reports are emerging that Chief Ministers of Both the Telugu States have pressed upon increasing the number of Assembly Seats in the recently held Inter-State Council meeting in New Delhi. Both the sides which are locking horns on various contentious issues post the bifurcation, made them only complicated sticking to their own stance.

But then on this issue, they reportedly told the center that it should not have any problem for increasing the seats since they have arrived at a common word on this issue. Venkaiah Naidu reportedly told them that Center will try its level best but there is one single word in the Reorganization Act which is stopping that from happening.
The Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act promised to increase the Assembly seats from 175 to 225 in AP and 119 to 153 in Telangana. Both TDP and TRS have 2-3 probables of many seats for the next election. The parties have pinned hopes on increasing of seats to accommodate all of them but then Center’s non-commitment is hurting them big time.
