Computer Education must for ‘T’ students!

Computer Education mandatory in TS Govt Schools!Telangana government may very soon make Computer Education as a compulsory subject from Class VIII from the forthcoming academic year in the government schools of the State. The State Council of Education and Research Training (SCERT) put forth the proposal to the government and also sought the creation of 4,550 posts for computer teachers.

This move is approved by the government will incur an expenditure of Rs.106.86 crore in the first year to procure computers, apart from a recurring annual cost of Rs.40.95 crore. Experts are of the opinion that this is the only way to empower the students studying in Government schools to battle cut throat competition existing in the market.

There are about 4,550 government high schools in Telangana and the government will have to appoint 4,550 computer instructors by the next academic year. The subject will have theory and practical exams. The theory exam for Class X for 50 marks would be conducted by the Board of Secondary Education and the remaining 50 marks for practical exams through online designated centres.
