The Andhra Pradesh and Telangana police have been in search of YSR Congress Party’s Macharla MLA Pinneli Rama Krishna Reddy since morning.
There are unconfirmed media reports that he was arrested at Isnapur village located in the Sangareddy district. The reports say upon receiving information about Pinneli hiding at a company’s guest house in Isnapur, Macharla police officials coordinated with the local Patancheru cops and managed to arrest Pinneli successfully.
But the department is yet to make an announcement.
A few other media houses are reporting that he escaped from the police at the last minute.
Since yesterday, Pinneli has been making headlines after a video of him damaging EVM and VVPAT machines at a polling booth in his constituency went viral on social media.
The Election Commission took the matter seriously and instructed the police to take immediate action against Pinneli. A criminal case has been filed against Pinneli.
