The Grand Old Party of the country, Congress is reduced to a Zero in Andhra Pradesh following the state division and is grasping for breath here now. The party is looking at Special Status as an issue for revival and pressed up on its Rajya Sabha MP, KVP Rama Chandra Rao who raked the issue with a Private Member Bill.

BJP had confirmed that the Special Status can not be given for the state and Congress is looking to fan the sentiment further. The party already promised that Special Status will be accorded in 2019 when Rahul Gandhi becomes the Prime Minister. But no one in the state can take it seriously under the circumstances Congress is in.
The other day, PCC President Raghuveera Reddy announced a Referendum by Congress to know the people’s opinion on Special Status and it will begin in Tirupati. It also looks a stale idea now as the referendum should be taken in those who are opposing Special Status. No one understands the logic conducting it here while the result will be obvious.
