Actress and Former MP Vijaya Shanthi has announced that she will not be contesting in the upcoming Assembly Elections and will only concentrate on campaigning for the party across the state. But then, the party is planning to field her for Parliament Elections from Secunderabad Loksabha Segment.

The 52-year-old actress won on TRS ticket from Medak Lok Sabha in 2009 elections and is one of the only two MPs, TRS held back then. She along with KCR who was an MP back then stalled the Parliament on several occasions. Due to differences with the TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao, she was expelled from the party before the 2014 elections.
Congress candidate Anjan Kumar Yadav won twice 2004 and 2009 elections from the constituency. The two time MP from the constituency is keen on contesting once again from here. The Lok Sabha segment is currently being represented by Bandaru Dattatreya who will be running for Assembly this time.
