Maybe due to the impact of the High Court’s verdict, the Jagan government has resumed the construction in Amaravati. The construction of the MLA and MLC quarters is going to resume.
Nagarjuna Construction Company has started dumping their construction material and machinery at the project site and the workers also started coming in. They will begin work soon.
Meanwhile, farmers have welcomed the company representatives and workers. They extended all possible help to the construction company for the early completion of the project.
More than 33,000 farmers have given lands for the capital in the land pooling scheme. They are left high and dry after the Jagan government came up with the three capitals plan.
After agitating for more than 800 days, High Court has given a favorable verdict directing the government to complete the capital works in 6 months.
The government despite saying committed to three capitals politically, has sought a time of 60 months for the completion. It did not approach the Supreme Court yet or table new bills for the three capitals.
“With a fickle-minded government like this, we never know. But at this point of time, we farmers will take this as a positive,” the agitating farmers say.
